This shot represents the beauty of life, the replentishing of the soul and the Glory of God's creation.
It is a picture of a small falls near Crescent Beach, which can be seen from Ecola Bluffs. I was on a hike near Crescent Beach and I saw the waterfalls to the side of the trail. I thought it might be a cool shot. I was shooting for the motion blur challenge but I thought my other shot was better, and this could do better in the free study. It was a fun shot to take, standing over the creek, on a downhill slope, figuring out my tripod position and snapping shots like crazy.
neat image, contrast, saturation, sharpening, burning/dodging and some minor blurring. |

Lovely blur on the water, but the aperture was too open, letting in too much light, resulting in the water being over exposed. The resultant brightness in the stones on the left takes away some of the effect of the water. 4 |

This may have been slightly overexposed for my tastes, but it is still a lovely composition, and the motion blur of the water works so nicely. |

I Like the way you've captured the waterfall with the long exposure, but the major patch of blown out water is quite distracting. Maybe a bit less exposure would have taken care of that problem? |

Done well to capture this light and still to blur the water - ND, or exceptionally low ISO? Good capture of a quite wide dynamic range too. Neatly composed too, so all round a competent image. Doesn't excite me much beyond on that technicl front however. |

I believe that If this photo were presented with what I perceive as filterd light I would have liked it even more.... The lighting on the rocks in the foreground are the indicator to me, otherwise very nicely composed. |

likes - long shutter to give water - bride veil look
dislike - hotspots on rock and leaves, often done shot

I really like this lively little springtime scene. The slo-mo water really fits the spring theme nicely and it's a delightful image. |

Too bad there is such a washed out spot right in the center of the image. Otherwise it would have been a very nice photo. |
