 Thought of this as soon as I saw the challenge. Couldn't find a gas mask, so it took us a while to find a military surplus store.

I actually had a different location in mind (SoDo Seattle) but we were losing light fast - so this is down at the Port of Tacoma. My wife standing in the middle of the street. She had to keep on taking the mask off as the trucks and security vehicles pulled into the factory (it's their road, and they are the only traffic down there). There's a big security station about a block away, and I thought we were going to be stopped/questioned, but we got the shot & high-tailed it out of there.

Sure wish this was advanced editing! (I'd have taken the pole out of her head) ;O)

Wow - what a shot - this ventures into the surreal for me, with the wonderful tension between the faceless masked figure, and the Teddy bear being carried along by one paw, all of it backdropped by the industrial plant.

And people say only 'eye-candy' gets good marks here . .

Let me just say that I was shocked to not see your name on the front page. You sure did take a hit during rollover. Thought this was one of the more creative images by far, and very well executed. Well done!

I think I've seen this mask before. I like how you've tied the teddy bear in. I always find this type of border to look better in a landscape cropped photo rather than a square crop.

Very nicely composed, exposed, and processed. That said, it looks kind of weird that the girl is wearing only a mask. Isn't the purpose of the mask defeated if it is not sealed and the rest of the body isn't protected?

i like the documentary feel of this shot. not sure about the overall color cast though. the mask, bunny, girl with pink clothes, rail road with crossing sign, ugly telephone/light wires, and last but not the least factory. every single element adds a meaning/interest in the image. brilliantly planned and composed.

i like this picture because its very different from all the other ones..everyone else has pictures of just air pollution but putting the gas mask in the photo was a great step up

This is a unique take on it. Most other pictures only have smokestacks in the picture, but you added. The lighting fits the felling of depression, good job.
