 Alright, week 2 and I've decided to move out of my comfort zone. No more flowers or plants for the rest of the challenge. I typically take my macro out to shoot plant life or the occasional insect, so inspired by the rest of you I'm going to try to spend the rest of this challenge exploring new subjects.

This week: the Kitchen. Poured my daughter a bowl of cheerios this morning, so thought I'd start out with that. (They are the mutligrain variety, which explains the different colors). Took a bowl in my backyard and started experimenting with different extension tubes on my 50mm macro. It was real difficult to focus with all three tubes on the camera -- the lens kept bumping up against the subject! So I took them off and tried them one at a time. I think this was the 2x tube. Even used a tripod for a change. ;>P

Looked to me like a pile of donuts.

I hate to say it, but up this close, cheerio's don't look very good to me. The image however, is great !

It does look like a pile of donuts. I like the fact that you are stepping out of your comfort zone and experimenting with different subject matter. I don't eat Cheerios but i like the macro of them, makes em look good enough to eat.

i really like this shot, it is simple but it has a big impact because we can see all the textures, this is a really cool macro.
