 I found this snail while working in my backyard. I had seen pics of them but never took the time to do any of my own. I thought it would be happy to get some carrots for lunch, so I put it on some and waited. All it wanted to do when it recovered from being handles was escape, and wasn't interested in the carrots at all.
This scene was lighted with overhead flourescent lighting, which I have found gives fairly true color with a white balance setting of 4000. About all I did was adjust levels, contrast and color saturation. I added a little USM to finish it off and saved it as a Web Ready JPEG.
Some of the other shots showed more action but not the best focus and clarity. It has been a fun time.

Other than part of the snail being (slightly) out of focus I love this photo! Not enough of a problem to mark it down, so I don't really know why I'm mentioning it at all...hehe!

Not sure I've ever had carrots and escargot in the same meal. Nice contrast and composition.

I always hated carrots...now I hate them more..if thats possibe. :)

Great shot though....perfect clearity dof and color.

A very clever and good idea. I find the lighting is a touch too harsh on the front carrot, but only minimal, and the snail could be a tad sharper. (I know I am very picky :) Very fitting to the challenge.

Are those carrots? Very cool shot! It would have been a 10 if you had cleaned up with mess from the snail a little. Even still, great focus and color!
