 First contest entry ever, so im a bit nervous. Ill expect a 4 maybe 4.5, but you gota learn somewhere.

Editing: RAW -> Resize -> Border -> Save

Thank you to everyone for the helpfull comments and the generous votes. I feel as my first post i did better than anticipated.

To answer several PM's and a few comments, this cup was not placed on the ground, i found it lying there on the walk to the train from work. It felt almost right to take a shot of it.

I really like this shot. It's simple and to the point. I think you should have cropped out the blue can(?) in the back. The wendy's cup in the grass alone would be perfect.

lol. I like the different take on it. In most pictures we are made to abhor the pollution, but in this one we are feeling sorry for it! Nice dof by the way. Good detail too.

I find the blue cup in the background to be way too distracting, it's just too contrast with the yellow and brown colors. Like how you were able to capture the texture of the grass, just needs a tighter crop job.

The lighting is very good for this image. The bright yellow cup brings out a lot of emphasis.

I like the dof and simpleness of the composition here.. The only problem here is the colours.. It all seems a little brown-yellow ish and the contrast of that isn't exciting enough..

i like your DOF on this shot. most shots like this would have the cup in focus and a line right above it of blur showing a very shallow depth of field. yours is nice
