It is cute, but it does look a bit posed. Hide in a carboard box with your camera 10 feet away and let several kids play peek-a-boo game for ice-scream jackpot. Maybe that would be different. |

My two cents worth - your child's expression isn't a peek-a-boo expression (your comment about not hurrying). But I also think a tighter crop would have helped this - like just above the hat on the top side, and with just a bit of the vertical board on the left. Your current crop just provides too much to detract from the "wow" of your shot (which is definitely there). With the tighter crop, I think the pipe does a nice transition from the wood to the face. Your wow is in the beautiful blue of her coat & hat (and matching blue/grey eyes) contrasted with the wood. The tighter crop also changes the expression slightly to almost a half-smile. It is darn cute, regardless of your opinion. |

Nice shot, Tate. I didn't comment during the challenge, but I'll give you my thoughts (which ain't much from someone who rarely makes top 50%). The exposure and processing is perfect. A portrait shot of the right half would have been much better. A bit of a smile would be a bonus. Finally, the pipes really bothered me. The same scene without the pipes would have been great. |

Well composed, the blue really sticks out. Only suggestion would be a tighter crop in portrait format for a little mor kid and a little less wood. |

Love the blues and the soft pink skin against the weathered wood. I would have been tempted to crop in tighter from the left. |

So very Peek-a-boo. wouldn't be the least bit surprised if this was one of the top scorers. Love the neutral tones ofsetting the color of the girl. |

The steel, blues and pinks really set off this shot nicely. Well done. |

I would have taken this in from the left more, to maybe half the plank... it is too busy otherwise. |

Beautiful use of geometric lines, good composition, and nice depth of field. But mostly, the vibrancy of the subject to the neutral tones of the fore/background really play well together (as well as the softness of her skin in contrast to the coarseness of the wood). Very nicely done.
(Voting is done, you got my only 10. Good luck.) |
