Love the liquid feel of the leather and contrasting but similar textures of the lace! This is a great idea for a macro and I would not hesitate to give it an 8 in a black/leather/clothing type of challenge. Square crop seems to work, but leaves me a bit uneasy, not sure why.

I like that the macro treatment gives everything the same silver tone, in spite of very different textures.

Eye see what you mean by the title, 'Shoe'. The details and the DOF and focus are terrific. So much texture and detail in the lowly shoe.

Nice subject for a b+w, and the maacro really shows off the texture and the grain of the leather. Not sure the lace does much for me, though, as it tends to draw my eye out of the image.
