Like someone said, too bad I don't have precognitive powers, especially since I couldn't work out a submission for GARBAGE, lol! In any event, thanks to all voted and to those who left comments. I think a 4.7 is pretty reasonable for my first time out.
There *IS* a reflection. If you look close you can see my head and the treeline. This was taken about 2 hrs BEFORE I discovered DPC and entered just hours before the deadline.
And honestly, the title was more of a lack of imagination than a call for sympathy.

This is a really lovely shot and very strong on texture. The reflection is a little weak.
I think the title is, frankly, manipulative.

| IMHO this is pretty much in focus and the composition of the elements is quite adequate, nevertheless, the reflection, main theme, is vague and unattractive, and the image of an old light bulb with such a grayish, non-contrasting and unappealing background results in a dull photo, that would have probably fared better at the "Garbage" challenge next week. |

| Welcome! Not a lot of reflection here, but well exposed and it fills the frame. I like the shallow depth of field and blurry background too. Shows promise. |

| I really like the use of colour in the shot and the unfathomable reflection in the bulb works really well. Composition is great and the feeling of atrophy flows from the image. The dramatic dullness adds to the feeling of the inevitability of decayâ€Â¦ Depressing, but it works photographicallyâ€Â¦ (9) |

| well being your first submission I would say I like the composition. the reflexion is a bit poor and uninteresting. it seems like it was like that when you found it wich it's understandable but it didn't have to be like that. you could've make modifications or put something in front of it to make it more interesting, no? good effort, tho. | Well....I like the picture. Very well done. I wish there was more to the reflection. I'm not sure what it is other than light. Which is definitely still a reflection, but just not a very interesting one in this case. And it's too bad because the photo itself is very interesting. a 6 from me. |
