 A macro of a California Poppy in a hillside field of poppies and other flowers.
50mm with 1x, 2x, 4x filters

I climbed the hill, made my way through the brush, and went through all the technical stuff of putting together the filters, figuring out the exposure settings, etc.

Then I just stopped and luxuriated in the scene I was in for a while. Nobody else was around. Without my sunglasses the colors were spectacular. I took some panorama segments of the whole field in 18mm also.

I felt so blessed to be able to experience this scene. Just over the hill within a half mile is the path of the wildfire devastation in October.

I really like the DOF here and the colors are soooooooo vibrant. The softness on the flower in the foreground adds a luxurious feel to the macro.
