This is a guy thing so I have no clue what it is lol. I do love how you captured the smooth and shiny metal. Every thing is so crisp and clear - very nice! |

I think it's gotta be some kind of a hubcap ?? Jeeeez. . .what do I know about such things.
All I know is that it is photographed VERY well! Its hard to get enough light on the chrome without blowing it out. But your lighting and clean sharp tones are absolutely perfect. I love how your picture overlaps your border. Hmmmm. . .how'd you do that! That is really cool!
I love it!!!

Thanks, Ecce! I take it as a high compliment that you gave me good marks on my border. Actually, I backed into that one because of late I have been practicing the border by highlighting and area of faocus with the rectangle marquee, then selecting inverse, copying to a new layer, and then playing with saturation, contrast/brightness to get to the intended black border. (I know that there are easier ways to get a black border, but I often like to do things the hard way for the sheer love of learning, often by mistake like this border.)
Also, I am very grateful that my editing has improved to the level that nobody caught what I did to the "blown-out" spots. To the upper left-hand side of the inner circle there is a black sliver of a "moon" above which is gray blurry section. In the original, it was really white! So, I messed around with texturizing techniques, Blur/Smudge Tool at various opacities, plus contrast/brightness, and even chrome filter (but that didn't work, so I backed out and went with plastic wrap filter, of all things...)
It's called thinking "outside of the box," or in my case "thinking outside of the atmosphere!" :} |

Man I love the metal looks on this rim (I guess it technically becomes a wheel when you add the tire). |

Nice image Stan :) Guess I think its some kind of hub (going with the crowd lol) so is it a macro or a closeup? I keep getting drawn to whatever is is going on under the top left circles? I've mentioned in previous comments I'm not a fancy border person but to be honest I only just noticed yours so guess it works really well :) |

nice chrome feel capture, works well in b&w. AS for what it is I will guess either a wheel to a toy car or a steering wheel made to look like a wheel. |

No clue what it is - does indeed look like a wheel or rim. I like how some of the circles are almost optical illusions - you can't quite tell which direction is up! |

A Pacer wheel off the car. I like the way you captured the reflective surface of the wheel without getting blown out highlights. Good job! The one thing that might have made this a little better would have been to put something behind the wheel more contrasting to the wheel...maybe something black. |

I was thinking it was a rim to a big rig but now that I look at it closer I can't imagine the rim staying on the rig with such little screws and no huge bolts. hmm.. not sure what it is..a match box car rim? Either way..awesome macro. |

Very nice conversion - love the tones. The perspective turns your head inside out :) |
