It's an overcast day today. I've been wanting to go to a hillside a mile or so from here and take pictures of a wild flower bed, but stepping outside my door I found something much more convenient. We replanted our Christmas pointsettas (poinsettias?)and they had great dew drops on them.

tripod
50mm lens + 58mm ring adapter + 1X + 2X + 4X filter
Some adjustment in Camera Raw
Cropped in PS
USM

Thanks for all the comments. As far as the saturation, I played with WB in Camera Raw and switched from Auto to Daylight WB to bring out more red. Cloudy or Shade were even brighter red.

As already said, I think that this could bear being cropped, so that just the leaf is in the frame.

This really pops and the water droplets are so sharp, they look like glass beads. I think it would looks even better without any BG, with just a close-up of the leaf and water.

I couldn't tell from this that it was overcast. Very bright and cheerful!

The color is so vibrant and the dew drops are beautiful little spheres causing more macros in the places they sit. The angle is good for leading the eyes. IMO I would crop out the upper left or crop off about 1/2 inch of the top so as not to have the slightly distracting background coming through. All in all a wonderful photo.

It's interesting how plants sometimes seem to radiate light in parts of the spectrum that we can't see, but the camera sensors pick up on.
I love color, and this shot has it. Nice droplets too. This was a good and "handy" find.

I love how those water drops are formed and shot. Amazing color saturation too.

Wonderful dew drops on beautiful red. Think this will also look very nice with just the red leaf without any background.

Nice capture. The water drops give the illusion of a 3D effect. Nice color and focus.
