The lighting is very flat and a lot of detail seems to be lost in the crystals. The focus on the pepper is also very soft. |

clever idea. I think this would stand out stronger if your shooting surface were solid black. |

Good idea, but the problem here is that there is neither any true white nor black - giving the photo way too little contrast.

Black and white in color is the challenge. Color in color is what I see here. Sorry. |

This could be improved with the range increased to include true blacks... seems really brown to me. |

conceptually a good idea, but the execution could use a little work. Perhaps if you glued the pepper first to the paper like how kids glue glitter and then glued in the salt once dried.... then, maybe there wouldn't be the scattered pepper grains over the white |
