 The last couple of days we have had huge afternoon summer storms. This was taken about 7-30 last night about 15 minutes before the sky fell in. The storm dropped 75mm (3") of rain in half an hour. This is the first attempt with the 100-400 - it was taken from our back verandah - the tree is about 100m (330') away. I was surprised how much light this lens actually let in under the circumstances.

I love the color of that sky and the silhouette is perfect for this type of shot. I can only imaging how it must look in real life.

Wow, that sky has the glow of fire somewhere. Love the color. I like how the lifeless tree looks against the brooding sky.

Dramatic, and I like the centered composition. I'm not so crazy about the transparent border, though. IMNSHO, it's hard to tell it's a border.. 8(

It is beautiful in that light- you certainly capture how ominous it must have been ! Did you hand-hold the lens ?

Boy, that's a lot'a rain. We could certainly use it here. Fun having new toys, isn't it? Very dramatic sky.
