beautiful!
I love the large expanse of starry night. This could be a base station on another planet.
Just wonderful! |

What an awesome capture of the night sky. I like the farm buildings, I think anyway, in the background. I really want to get some pictures posted without editing. |

Wow! Great night shot. My only suggestion would be to get rid of the big, white border. I'd much rather look at the stars and buildings. 8) Good work. |

That must have been quite the site to see on that cold evening. This picture just begs to be printed real big. Just a hint of light on the bottom and the stars makes this seem so peaceful. |

Wow, pretty!
I see that you were facing South West. At the top right is the lower half of Orion, the belt and sword. At the left edge is his hunting dog Canis Major. The end of it's tail is at the left edge, and the bright star is Sirius, the dog star, and it represents the dog's shoulder. There is an awesome nebulae in the sword of Orion, that can be captured with even a medium telephoto on a good clear night.
[thumb]651436[/thumb] Here is a closer shot of the Orion Nebulae, and a Wico Link. You can see the three brightest stars across the top of this image forming the pattern that is in the top right corner of your image. The nebulae is one of the coolest things in the sky to see thru binocs or a telescope.
I love the way the snow covered ground and the sky behind the farm looks in your shot. Astro photography with the horizon included is beautiful because we have something to reference the sky with. Your image is especially nice in that respect. |
