I told Chance (full name: Fat Chance) to smile, but this is all he would give me. It's the way he rolls. He is a Pot belly Pig, about 12 years old.

He is an indoor/outdoor pet, and he is rather needy. Loves to be touched and petted. At night he sleeps in the corner of our bedroom, where he wraps himself up in blankets. (Think "Pigs in a Blanket") Sometimes it's hard to believe that a creature without opposable thumbs - without ANY thumbs - could rearrange the blankets so precisely.

Shot in the backyard on an overcast afternoon. Played with color and contrast a bit. Cloned to remove the bit of fluff stuck to his face. Heightened catchlight. Framed. Resized.

Very nice shot. LIke the square format here. Love the detail and a very interesting pet. Chance looks like he would be very needy... :)

I love the way you filled the frame with the close-up. A real portrait. He looks rather disdainful of your project. And I like the little bit of green framing his face on the right. I'm surprised at the score. I don't understand the ten 3s. I accept the few troll votes, but the 3s are uncalled for.

I think the subject is hogging the frame a little bit too much, but still a very cool shot.

Umm, THIS is a pet!? I'd love to know the story behind this one!

Very original subject. lol. The lighting seems a bit harsh, and maybe oversharpened.

Great job at filling the frame, very nice animal, a Boar? I think you over-sharpened it a little too, but nice texture.

Goodness! A pot-bellied pig! Always nice to see a different kind of pet. Lighting seems a little harsh, but it's got some great texture and detail.

Way to capture the texture of porky's skin. The added dimension makes this an excellent attempt.

I LOVE those animals. . .SO MUCH!!!!! Every time I see them, they remind me in the way they act of my dog who I adore. I also adore the way you have processed this to make it interesting and artistic! Not an easy feat because usually they are just lazing around in a bunch of dirt.

Excellent portrait of this "so ugly he's cute" little fellow.

Hee-hee :-) Nice tusks. The pig does not look terribly engaged in the portrait session, but certainly has no problem filling the frame. I might play with blurring the background some to make the pig stand out even better.

Whoa! That's one speckly pig! Did you really push the sharpening on this to get that appearance? If not, a polarizing filter could have controlled some of those reflections perhaps? I like the way this is laid out with the head shot. AND - Your title is quite funny. :) Good luck!
