 My first submission in several months...

Closeup of a Pratt & Whitney R2800-27 radial engine (an 18 cylinder radial developing more than 2,000 HP). It is attatched to a Douglas A26-B Invader at the Hill AFB aerospace museum.

I was really drawn to the parallel lines radiating from the center-- both the engine mounts and engine lines. I felt the conversion to a somewhat contrasty B&W emphasized the textures and lines of the engine while conveying a feeling of power.

Technical:
Shot indoors under ambient light using a tripod. Cropped, split image to RGB, discarded both green and blue channels. Slight adjustment to brightness/contrast. Resized for submission; USM at 1.25/100/5 in PSP8.

B&W was the right choice. My only criticism is that all the twisting tubes take away from the parallel theme.
