The editorial comment is interesting. For full effect, eyes should be closed, there is too much life in an open eye. |

A bit disturbing..Not sure where you were going with peace for this? |

A well taken photo, although I get the impression she's about to break into a smile! |

The concept is thought provoking. The shadows and lighting were a good effect. |

you captured your subject well, IMO not a very peaceful shot |

I had to pause on this shot for a moment in that my initial reactions were 'sensationist rubbish' and 'yep peace at last except for the family are left behind when things like this happen' and I was going for the 3 button. Then I realised that any image that can cause the viewer to feel emotion (be they positive or negative) can perhaps be classified as a good image. So tried to view it a little more subjectively. In the end I gave it a six as I feel that the shot did not quite convey any real sense of peace even in death and also the focus on the face seems slightly off.
Not a shot I remotely like but hopefully one that has let me overcome my prejudices and mark fairly |

Oooo edgy, I like it...models eyes perhaps should have been closed? |

this is a little disturbing to me. Maybe her eyes should have been closed. I assume you are trying to convey a suicide/overdose here? |

While I find this image, or rather, the topic of this image, rather unsettling... disturbing... it IS a good photo. However, I find the placement of the pills somewhat illogical and something which I'm unable look past when viewing this photo. |

Pretty morbid view on the challenge, I think this may have had more impact if she didn't look so alert and awake. Nice composition |

Awful lot of morbid people associating death with peace in this challenge. Unless she's just temporarily zoned out. She certainly doesn't look stressed. At any rate, lighting is not bad on her but quite bright on the floor, which keeps drawing my eye down into the vacant corner. |

Downbeat take on things but I like the overall feel of the shot. I think the grain adds to this and there is a little warmness to the tones in contrast to the subject. |

This is a potentially very powerful image. I like the way you are expressing the idea that some may see suicide as a way to achieve peace.
My first impression was that the woman had succeeded and had fallen to the floor, spilling the pills as she went down. But her eyes are open and it's very unlikely that the pills would have landed on top of her. It would have been better for her to have her eyes closed and the pills spilling out of the bottle onto the floor.
Another possibility is that she has fallen woozy to the floor and is trying to find take more pills to finish herself off. I'm not sure how you could reinforce that interpretation.
I like the lighting (except for the hot spot on the lower left). I probably would have cropped off the empty tiles at the top and added more of the body at the bottom. |

Her mouth, specifically the lower lip... looks very alive and tense. |

An unusual take - I hope you don't get slammed for it being too "negative," My only problem is the little bit of glare in the bottom left. |
