We were driving along and noticed this old graveyard. We had been by it many times but never noticed. The sun was out and casting long winter shadows. An old man came up as I was shooting and told us his grandmother was burried there. As he was in his 70's (at least) it dated this graveyard pretty old. Most of the dates on the stones were from the 1800's. Converted, cropped, contrast boost.

Good choice of headstone, adds some interest to the idea.

i like the angle of how you took the photo. or was it just fallen down?

While the subject is in focus the angle is distracting as is the twigs in the foreground, I think a different angle might have worked better.

beautiful.

The hands on the bottom are a little distracting when i first looked at it i didn't really focus on the hands because there on the bottom, i guess the pure white doesn't go with the grave stone color but good idea.

Did it fall down? Bummer. Makes for a nice angled composition, though personally I like reading old gravestones. Much more interesting than a name and dates ... more personal than most of today's markers.

I really like the composition and the tones in this photo, although I do find the white hands rather distracting and out of keeping with the rest of the masonry.

OK. This looks like it has been knocked over which (for me) cancels some of the feeling of peacefulness.

Good angle
