 This shot was taken in Death Valley on the Sand Dunes. I saw this very cool composition involving dunes in the distance and the textures on the nearby dune. This was during the early morning when the sun was rising so the ridges are more profound.

I adjusted the levels, cropped, slight spot edit to remove a small twig, USM and slight saturation to increase the natural blue color of the sky reflections.

Nice location. Could you have gotten down to the sand dunes instead of from top view? I think it'd be more effective.

Great shot. Love the way you cought the patterns in the sand. Good composition. I probably would reduce the amount of background shown at the top, but the image is still very effective.

This is all about light and shade. The way the light catches the face of the dune in the middle distance. and the wind-blown 'waves' on the surface. All make a good picture.

Very nice composition but I think it could use maybe another 1/3rd of a stop of exposure as I would like to see a bit more of the background valley, which appears to have lost detail in the shadows.
