Absolutely brilliant, Charlie! I'm proud to be side-by-side with you here! I wonder if you're the only Brown-ribboner with a Posthumous ribbon as well? |

beautiful reimagining of the whiterook photo that stole my brown ribbon. For you, a Posthumous Red Ribbon.

looks like the original, too much noise and contrast is poor |

Unfortuantely, I just don't get it. Art is like that, some get it, some don't. The problem is when those that don't, just don't like it either. This is a picture that if I saw in a gallary or store, I would walk right on by. I wouldn't even stop and take the time to say, "I don't get it." |

hmm.. interesting take on the original. I think that considering your subject, the faded-out editing was a good choice. composition is good, maybe a little more space below the wing would help a little. I'm guessing though, that this isn't doing so well with the dpc crowd - I'm wondering if maybe you couldn't have tried other angles like from the ground view, or upclose maybe on the wing or with feathers blowing in the wind, but obviously lifeless on the ground... not sure, just some thoughts |

Your title is wrong. It looks like a dead seagul on the beach. :) 4 |

This is just not a good photo, in my opinion. I'm sorry. |

so ... you're going for the brown? Not so fast! THis is a clever play on the original, which actaully has the ability to meet the challenge where the original really didn't. So you get a 9 because the photo is still horrible rather than excellent but it meets the challenge and has humor and wit. 9'r |

whiterook's shot is a piece of fine art compared to this crap. And I'm not offended by the dead bird. |
