Taken at 9am on a frosty Sunday morning but there were still loads of people around!

I don't really expect to do that well as the castle isn't sharp enough for my liking, it's all a bit hazy and there are too many people in the picture! I struggled to think of another subject though so had to settle for this shot!

Shot with Aperture priority on a tripod ... it's amazing how many people come up to you and ask your advice etc as you must be a professional if you have a tripod!!

Cropped, hue/sat, resize, USM and save for web in PS.

What did I learn from this challenge:
Using the tripod! I've used it maybe twice but have just got a quite compact tripod that I can strap to the bottom of my rucksack so I can take it anywhere!

I like the way the road leads the eye to the castle. But find the haziness at the castle to be too much. This would be a much better photo on a clear day. I might also crop out some of the sky, so it appears the road is leading more up to the castle as opposed to down to it.

Points for meeting the challenge! I do wish the colours were a little more saturated though, and some contrast would really perk it up.

I feel like this could have been a little better in the terms of color. It's a little drab in colors, however I think it is an interesting photograph, I just wish it was dressed up a little.

So very fairy-tale like - you've really used the road(?) to make the castle seem impossibly large!

That's always a tempting prospect that makes for slightly unsatisfying pictures. I think that the problem might be that the trees lining the avenue aren't tall enough to justify the very central composition. The image is too stolid. Maybe if one were to lie down and use an ultrawide angle lens?

lighting would have been better later in the day IMO, shadows from the trees really detract from your line

I actually like the symmetry created by centering the path. Looks like it is lacking some contrast though.
