decided on this one, instead of the original(late minute thoughts/doubts). i hope i made a good choice!
p.s. how nice a little shadowing can make you look ;-)

Thanks for making the gray specs in your brain work for this one! I appreciate it!
1. the tatto DOES NOT say anything. it is of a design i drew up, of a black and red nautical star with C-like curves.
2. the 'peace' challenge allowed: "take an image that conveys *harmonious relations, *reconciliation, *inner contentment, *serenity, & *balance. . ." for those of you who said: “this is peace?”
3. the lighting for the photo was very simple, but very effective! i wanted the tattoo to be ‘highlighted’. that is why i titled this one inner (or outter) self-contentment . . . LOL
4. this was not the original one i wanted to enter. i changed my mind at the last minute and entered this one instead. i am glad i did, because i am sure the original would not have done as well.
5. my score went up a bit nearing the end of the challenge, then dipped a tad again, buuuut i think this may be my favorite photo so far! ;-D

| So you're a next to next door neighbour. You're looking good. This is disturbingly real looking. That might put people off thinking of it as 'peace', but disturbing doesn't exclude peace, so it's peacefully real. Thanks. |

| Very nice. I think I'd like this better if it were either more clear (hair details, etc.) or less clear (Lens-Baby effects). |

| If the tattoo weren't there, this would be much more "peace"ful and pleasing. As it is, the eye stops at the tattoo and has a hard time moving through the photo. The lighting is really pleasing, though. |

| Wow, this was a tough one to score. I keep coming back to it, and I still can't decide if I like it or not. That in itself is an accomplishment to many photogs, to evoke thought. There is something about the hand that detracts me. I don't know if it's the shadowing, or an effect of some sort. I find it to look almost skeletal, for lack of a better description. I wish I could make out what the tattoo on her back says -but not sure it would weigh me one way or the other to know that detail. |
