 This was taken (again) at the Korean Friendship Bell park in San Pedro. I love that place. I went there hoping to get a good entry for this challenge and wasn't disappointed. I saw these two boys playing basketball, and one of them got on his hands and knees on the ground a few feet away from the basket, while the other stood about twenty feet back and then ran and used his friend's back as a launching pad to jump off of and dunk the ball. I caught them doing it once and it looked so cool, I had to go up to them and ask them to do it again. They loved the photo I had already taken so agreed to do it about 8 more times for me. I sent them prints as a thank you. Here are some of the outtakes:

Hopefully people don't mind too much that it's similar to my previous Hoops photo, but I figure there are so many repetitive landscapes here that seem to do well over and over again, maybe I can get away with it once. = )

Post processing: Converted from Raw, cropped, curves, levels, selective color and USM.

Congrats! I did recognize the basket immediately, but it's a spectacular example of leading lines. I LOVE the processing, too. And your outtakes are equally good. That makes two hoops shots of yours in my faves list. :)

Congrats on the ribbon. This reminds me of the last time I was in California. I drove by this court and I remember thinking hey isn't that Breee's court from DPC? It is in a great location isn't it? Nice job giving it a different perspective and feel.

Beautiful silhouette, and I love the kite off in the distance. If it wasn't basic editing you could have cloned out the two people on the beach, but still a 10 from me. A ribbon shot for sure.

I like this. My only nitpick is the small silhouette visible on the beach and the tiny kite in the sky. If this was not a challenge, with strict editing rules, they would certainly be clone-outs.

The pole on the right and the people in the background are slightly distracting, but this is a perfect shot as far as the lighting on the water and the height of the player! 9.

this is really cool, nice idea and ocmposition. The only downside to it is that person sitting down in the background and the horizon doens't seem quite level (actually the horizon i didn't notice until i looked at this closely)

that little plane along with the title makes the shot for me. i wonder why you did not use pretty sunset colors and opted for this sepia tone though. i am sure you would have cloned the person out if it wasn't for basic editing.

This is very nice. I would have liked it even more if the photo was cropped right above the horizon. I don't think the bottom bit adds anything to the image, in fact, the tilted horizon bothers me a little.

I think this is a great pic. I am not a big fan of silhouettes and burnt whites when shooting into the sun, but this one simply works. Great composition with the leading line bending around the sun, and clearly leading to the main subject.

Could have done without the sepia though
