This is a beautiful place...it is located in the high desert of southern California. Amongst the really desolate and colorless desert are these boulders which seem to just be strewn into the landscape and yet it is in such contrast to its surroundings that it instills peace and complete inner contentment.

That's all...I am thinking that this will maybe get a 5.875 rating....well, I can hope anyhow...

Love the rich tones and sharp focus.

something needs to be in the picture to make a point of interest

Nice idea, but IMO lack contrast of light between the lit and shaded areas. While the rocks in the front might be shiny, it gives the look of over-sharping, the rocks in the back seem a touch soft, perhaps more depth of field would work better :)

Nice bit of abstract texture here, the warm tones help a lot although the texture looks a little too processed/sharpened for my tastes.

This is OK. The first thing I noticed was the texture of the rocks. They don't look right; maybe over-sharpening is the problem. Has the image been tilted? I would expect the floor to be horizontal. If the image were rotated CCW to make the floor horizontal, the gap would be more strongly tilted. I think that might be better.

The rocks in the foreground frame the lighter rocks in the background. The green of the plant puts emphasis on the picture but it does not impede it's greatness.

I really like the angle that you captured this photograph. The colors are very nice and the lines capture the viewers eye.

i like the movement but the rocks are a little large and take up too much space

Yes, there is something strangely calming about this scene. Pleasing lighting and composition, but I particularly like your use of texture.
