I was so impressed with Roz and her pelican studies. I decided to try my own play on those. I took these shots (3 of them) in Maine way back in September. All the same gull. Lots of finagling to get them to be approximately the right size, location, etc.

Overlay: from either Flickr or Grunge
Originals (I think):

Thanks Roz for the inspiration. I'm afraid this pales in comparison with yours. But ... it was fun and a true learning experience.

This is masterly - I would not have guessed this was a composite. Nice choice of texture for that weathered seascape look.

This is definately your best work yet! Excellent processing it looks very natural perfect choice for texture and blending modes only thing I would say is I would erase a little of the texture on the bird on the far right neck.

Yeah I never would of thought that was a cut a paste job they look so natural together..Seagulls love em or hate em but be careful feeding em they crap on your head in a secound. One time I was camping at the beach with some friends and we were cooking hamburgers on the grill and we were not paying attention and a bunch of seagulls swooped down and stole our burgers right off the grill. I just thought of that and thought I would share...anyways I like the photo

Love those bird shots and the texture goes perfectly with it! Border is great, too!

Great work. I would never have guessed that this is a "manufactured" shot. I really like how the bird's head on the right seems to be disembodied and floating. Nice use of the texture, too.

thankyou so much for the homage .. and i dont think this pales at all in comparison .. its a brilliant combined image and i love your texture process .. :)x

I really like how the image is immediately aged. Isn't this fun? Those birds crack me up.
