It's a simple table-top toy, a combination of pendulum and orbital motion, you've seen several I'm sure. Attempts to pan the camera to maintain a spot of sharp definition produced O.K. images, but nothing really very interesting. This one in patrticular, though the panning isn't as evident, was by far the most intriguing and abstract. No, it's not a typical panning shot. That's O.K., I liked it, and a few of you voters did, too.
Yes, it IS in focus. |

It is like a computer generated fractal. Very cool. |

Not sure this fits the definition of panning. That's too bad because I really like it otherwise. It definitely conveys complex motion (even without the title). I'm curious to find out what it is. |

I have no idea as to what it is, but to me it still conveys movement, well done 9 |

This isn't really panning but a slow shutter speed |

I don't quite understand what your main focus is suppost to be. I'm going to assume that it's the big silver thing though in the middle and not the silver moveing things in the background, so anyway your picture is just way out of focus and you can't even tell what the main focus is suppost to be to begin with. |

Whoah! I love astrophysics, but I am having difficulty following this motion. I love the metalic texture of the blur and the lines certainly are interesting to follow. When I cover the two strongest rectangular lights it really lets my eyes relax and enjoy the shapes. Very interesting. |

I find this picture very chaotic in a possitive way and it has very good contrast. |

not sure how panning was used here. looks like either the camera was stationary the subject moved around, or vice versa. cool metallic look, and I like the abstract nature nonetheless. |

Great photo, however can't see how this meets the "panning" theme. |
