Heavily PS'd. My daughter, who is normally happy to model came down with the Chicken Pox, so I had to draft my younger son. Portrait mode, SHQ.

This looks heavily post processed to remove a background.

I think you should try to use a white background in stead of wiping out the background and parts of his face

Ehmm.. That white glow really does detract from the picture, it get´s in the models face and it just doesn´t look good in this picture.

The hairdue is a bit to slick for my taste :)

Should this not have been entered into parallel lines as well? ;)

Wow--interesting hair! I like a lot about this shot, including his expression; the blurring around the subject is detracting from the impact, for me.

the halo effect around your model is very distracting

Now this is one interesting cat. Is that Dapper Dan Pomade in his hair? sure he has enough? (C; The lighting is very harsh and bright. Makes him look very pasty in spots. the soft edge around the head and shoulders is VERY distracting and invades onto his face.

Misty effect seems a little heavy handed against the right cheek especially - I like his hairstyle, haven't seen that on anyone yet. - 6

To me, the fuzziness around the subject detracts from this shot. It looks like you may have been attempting to remove the background? Better to try and get the background close to what you want at exposure time if at all possible. The lighting looks a bit flat as well, especially the bright area on the forehead. If you can't move your flash off the camera, perhaps you could try some natural light portraits with some white foamcore as a reflector for fill on the opposite side.

Potentially good subject (not sure about hairstyle :)) but the blurring at edges looks very unatural and adds nothing. Otherwise colours and composition are appealing.

the processing or whatever you did to this is totaly sick wrong, sorry

I'm afraid I'm not crazy about the editing of the background here.

A great capture of the subject's personality - something every portrait should strive to do. I like the tones and the lighting.

Nice. Left side (right) cheek is somewhat distracting. I would have prefered a crisper outline of the face. BOL

The subjects face looks like it is missing on the left side -- like you erased it in editing. It really takes away from your photo. You can tell it is not a real background.

Guess you over-done the photoshop feather effect... the photo looked a little unnatural.... it's a relatively good attempt. but the photoshop effect spoiled it.. guess it'll be better with a tighter crop and less effect. ..a 3 for me.. sorry mate..

the effect you were trying to achieve with cloning/painting/blurring the background has been over done. you have cut into his cheek, chin and neck. his gaze is uncaptivating. sorry.

I wish you hadn't feathered so much, I found it distracting. Could be a great image. Wonder how it would look with a black background (except you might "lose" his hair that way). i do like the expresion you caught. Just get rid of that feathering! lol

don't like the background painted on.. it would have appeared nicer & cleaner if you used a gradient mask within photoshop.

Too soft outlne of face. Looks almost blurred in on his right side. Backgroud really destracts being so bright. Good lighting on subject though.

A good creation, but IMHO this is overphotoshopped.

OOF for the most part and the background looks a bit over worked and the light is a bit too strong. The hair is the focus drawing the eye from him.

I'm not a big fan of the blurring, and he's looking off to the side in an ambiguous fashion...

An interesting study of this young man - the range of focus from gentle to soft is great. Perhaps the highlights are a tiny bit overexposed. It would be interesting to see this portrait with a not so high key background.
