determination, excellence, focus for perfection all captured with this image - the background of people all blurred adds to the multidimentional feel of this image

Took a peek at some of your colour hoop shots Barbara and whilst all the bright colours really pop I think this conversion really helps the viewer 'see' the image rather than be filled with colours (hope you understand cos I'm not sure I do lol).

Excellent seperation of subject from bg and the composition/lighting is spot on :) Must have been a great day out.

Stunning. Not only the separation of busy fore and back grounds, former so well defined, but the utter focus and grace of the dancer in her face and arm and fingers. Glad to have seen.

The rich out of focus background and the direction of the hoops creates a harmonic composition. You remind me that composition is made up of many elements vying for attention and some working to enhance each other.

Excellent capture, you got a great pose from her. Great job of isolating the subject with the shallow depth of field. Perfect focus and detail.

I don't know what hoop dance is but it looks difficult. Nicely converted to b&w and nice contrast.

I really like the subject and comp. Just the right moment. Wish the background weren't so distracting. Work in PS might help solve that. LG

Great shot Barbara! I bet this one was hard to convert to b/w (emotionally not technically!) because I'm sure the costume and rings were so colorful...but the b/w works tremendously and I'm glad you did. The great shapes and tones really set this off.

This has to have been interesting to watch! Excellent exposure and clarity on your subject, and oddly, I find the busy bokeh beyond her to support this well for some reason.
