So this is 2 blocks from your house, huh? Nice neighborhood you live in :-) I used to hang out up there a LOT, 'cuz first my son was into the velodrome thing, and then he got interested in playing golf with me and we played at balboa a couple times a week, and his HS team played there as well. But we lived on Point Loma, down in Portuguese town near the docks. |

I'd say you did pretty darn well with your first attempt at panning. And cyclists in velodromes move rather quickly! Congrats on the top ten, too. |

Excellent composition, spinning wheels adds motion and complements the sharpness of the face and upper body |

The choice of subjects gives the image a balanced feeling. |

Perhaps not the most original bike image, but it's very well done. |

Very nice, I like how you used the space in your frame and cropped it aysemmetrically. And I like how only the colors on the subject pop so there are no distractions. |

would have liked to see more background to heighten the effect. |

Great lines and patterns. It's remarkable how everything has motion except for the foreground rider's head. Honestly, I didn't apreciate how great this shot is on my first run through because I didn't look close enough at that face (perhaps because it is darker than surroundings). WOW! Great shot! |

The panning effect is lessened by the featureless background |
