 This shot was super rushed was about to leave the place and I quickly snapped a shot no thoughts composition wise... was a lil blurred in fact so I added some noise to cover that up =]

So, after all the debating here is a cropped version

Smart use of noise to cover up the blur :)

Am torn between 'is she too central' or 'central is right' on this shot and think either would work. I do agree with Sandy (must stop doing that) in thinking this is probably your best work to date. Isn't it strange that so many people are thinking WWII? Excellent shot Luana :)

lol I learned something new - adding noise to cover blur. I know this will definitely come in handy! It looks like you caught a story in waiting. Why is she there? What is she asking for? Is she distraught or just very focused? Great capture.

I think pineapple has hit the mark here. We need to know nothing more than what your photo tells us: we can look and look for more, try to think about who and where and why, but this forces us to accept something exceedingly simple and profound about human being.

I love this shot, it has such an emotive quality that I think your choice of grain only enchances. I could actually see this in a WWII photography book stating this is a red cross nurse praying in a church when not attending to injured soldiers. Nicely done!

You teach me that it is often the spontaneous action which yields the sensual image, rather than the carefully contrived. Your image is sincere and that makes up many times over for its failings in composition and quality. In fact those human failings simply add to this image. I learn.

I love it ! LOVE IT! In fact, I think this may be my favorite one so far of yours. It conveys such a powerful mood. The added grain was a brilliant idea. Everything looks perfect and so intentional.

Great processing - the graininess really adds to the atmosphere. I like the centred composition, I think it works well with this. This is a very nice image.

World Class. The woman's dress gives the image a WWII/Depression era feel. Really great shot. Funny reading the comments but I would center her even more. Having said that...the moment rules the image not the technical bullshit others want to see. It rocks as it is!!!

very emotional, looks like that lady was crying or something.
don't know wheather i like the centered comp here, maybe having her on the right edge with more space around her would make for a more exciting compositon.

This is good. I like the gritty feel to it, so think the noise adds to photo. It might be a tad more interesting if the praying woman wasn't quite so centered. Very nice photo, regardless.
