Yippeeee! thanks for the ribbon!
I had intended photographing a lily lying in a puddle for this challenge but I had order it from my local flower shop first. The shop owner said she would try and get my a lily for the next day but she couldn’t promise anything.
I said to her that it was a pity she didn’t have any in stock because I wanted to practise the lighting that evening. She then gave me a flower she had cut for a flower arrangement so that I could do my lighting check (nice lady).
Well, I got such a good result on the test flower she gave me that when she said the next day she couldn’t get any lilies till next week, I decided to enter my “test” shot result instead.
THANK YOU so much for the votes and comments. I didn’t think this would get such a good score. However, my husband (who thinks the photo’s great), had this “I told you so” grin on his face the whole week ;-)

No the lilly would not have given you this photo.This is as good as it gets.I will go back and re look at the flower.

This is so pretty. I liked the glow of light reflecting the underside of the flower. It makes it look like silk. Congrats on the ribbon!

Nice reflection, well lit and exposed. I like the monotone convertion also. Minor detail is that the water streak crossing the reflection is distraction. Without that this would be a top 3 finish.

8 - Very nice. Wish the severed end wasn't so prominent though. Like the textures (of what appears to be a begonia) coupled with the tone, works well.
