the straightness of the bare trees is very cool - i am just not sure about the dead space on the left - a slightly different angle so that the person is in play would have made this one stellar...

Very nice shot and editing :) as was mentioned earlier I think the scene might have looked better with the trees further to the right but maybe you composed like this to show the lone person?

I could blame it on Finland. Very taken with the triangular expanse of light at lower left being ever so casually balanced by the dark shrubbery and tiniest detail of building and solitary person at the not quite lower right, almost on the extension of first triangle. And then there is the triangle, not quite complete, made by all the trees. Play of black and white and the most subtle greys .... With such a strong and interesting composition all the elements combine. Wouldn't change a thing. I need to hear some Sibelius now.

My fave part is the dark trees reaching up into the gradient sky. Very cool looking.

The sky vs. the ground really makes this photo. Like nikolaos said, it is a feeling of solitude, but the bottom right part reveals that it isnt quite so

You teach me about "light behind" and "light in front" views, the shadows from each and the tones that develop accordingly. The shadows lead away into that great expanse of snow releasing me to wander around at will.

Great scene, very pretty. i think the top of the tree being cropped distracts a bit imo.

I'm so jealous of the scenery you get to have as a slice of your life! This is so beautiful. I love slice of life pictures. That was one of my funnest side challenges ever. Please post lots of your slice of life photos here too, okay? :)

I like these winter outdoors shots in B&W. I really like your B&W conversion and use of high contrast. That lone figure on the right is kind of interesting but doesn't seem to quite fit the picutre, at least for me.

Nice shot and the processing is good. I do think the the tall trees are too centered. I would have like it better with more of the lake showing and less on the right.

Beautiful landscapes you have up there! I like the compostion, a feeling of solitude, but not complete. Beautiful shot.
