Challenge: Parallel Lines (Basic Editing I)
Camera: Fujifilm FinePix A303
Location: My house, on the deck.

Aperture: F2.8

At first I had difficulty trying to figure out what to shoot, as I had not wanted to do what would seem to be what every one else was thinking of doing. I pulled out the glass chess set, and well here you have it =)

This is a really good image, but the emphasis is not on the parallel lines. Very little of that is in this shot.

Are the lines you're using the lines of squares on the board or a line of pieces in a row? If the board squares, back off and get several leading up to the king. If a row of pieces, elevate your camera above the board where that line is more obvious. P.S. Your board has a water ring on it. :->

YOu give just a hint of the chessboard in this picture. Others might have shown more of it. The chessmen are interesting and with their vertical parallels contrast well.

The lightning seem pretty good but I´ve seen similar things performed better. Think you would have got a better result if youve had the chesmen more widespred, that more distance between them, and maybe fewer. Also I would have liked another angel, seeing more of the chesboard and the lines it performes.

HEY! I have one of those chess sets! Seriously, besides the board, I don't see parallell lines, amd thae faint lattuce fence in the background is very distracting.

Maybe an overhead view would have been a bit better, in my humble opinion.

Just my .02
