This has such an odd whiff of menace to it - what is she pointing toward, what's behind me? Makes me think of monsters under the bed. :)

To me, it looks like she's underwater in a stormy sea. She doesn't mind, but the sailor looking into her eyes is terrified.

This is kind of scary to me. It looks like a book cover for one of those Gothic novels about an evil little girl. The doll looks murdered, lying on the rug with the eyes wide open and the hair spread out.

She has freckles! Looks to be in good shape; I love how her eyes are lit and they even have catchlights.
