Challenge: Reflections Without Mirrors (Classic Editing)
Camera: Canon PowerShot S30

Aperture: F/5
ISO: Automatic
Shutter: 1/501 sec.
Date Uploaded: Sep 27, 2002

A shot of my hard drive reflecting my cat, Stone. This is NOT a mirror. It is just a large round very smooth reflecting object located within the hard drive 'shell'. I can only hope that everyone realizes this and does not vote incorrectly, as I AM within the challenge requirements.

I keep wanting to look at this sideways. Maybe it would be better rotated 90 degrees clockwise.
Otherwise very creative and well composed. I like it.

Do you have a lot of "dead" hard drives? I'm trying to gather a few for an unrelated art project...

This is good, I'd be interested to know how you did this - 9.

Wow! Striking, different, crisp! Great job!
I think I'd rather cat wasn't upside down but then again it's even more unusual.

Nice! I am still boggled by how you did it. I really like the kitty even tho it is incredibly blurry and fake! I just like how clean and smooth your H D is because mine is all scratched...9

Nice trick! The only way I can figure this being done is: take a great outdoor photo of the cat (blue sky), print it, then line it up above the hard drive with good lighting and SNAP! I hope you haven't had to "defend" yourself from being DQed. It's a wonderful effect shot. (Did I get it right? no score change either way.........) 9 Swash

A cat? It's a very nicely framed cat but why a cat?
10/02/2002 06:37:00 AM
Ordinarily I'd shout – NO BLOOMIN CATS! But this is a truly superb shot, so I can't. I laughed for agesâ€Â¦ This is the best pet picture I've seen for a long time. Judging by the lighting, I'd say this was done in direct sunlight to get the cat lit properly. Not easy, and I expect it took a few goes getting the cat right. I can only award this a best of breed picture, but it deserves to do well by wit aloneâ€Â¦ (10) Really like the inventiveness and styleâ€Â¦

Very creative. I love the white and the quality is awesome. Great Idea, this one should win, or come in second. The natural shadow is great too

Don't like the composition. Also it's to bright.
10/01/2002 05:45:00 PM
To me that would have been btter without the heavy shadow.

Perfect fit of the reflection, although a hard disk and cat is a strange combination.
