In keeping with the spirit of Weeks 1 to 3, this was from the only handful of shots I took during the first week of January. I went for a quick walk during lunch and there wasn't much exciting and the old vines caught my eye.

i like the lightness of this image and the way that the curly shoots are still visible in the background. the intersecting lines of the main branch provides a nice anchor point to the image. I just wonder about the darker area in the upper right - I would almost consider cropping a bit of that out to make this more clean.

Simplicity. Beauty. Wonderfully seen and captured.

works really well as an abstract, would make a nice desktop b/g

Nice image, but I would have liked a little deeper DOF.

Nice composition and pp. I can't help wondering what it would've looked like if the other curly was in focus though.

We have curly-cue plants like this around here. I think it is fascinating to see nature grow in a curl instead of straight and narrow. What I like about this is that you have some of the curlies hidden in the bokeh, and that makes me want to keep searching the background.

The simplicity of this shot is what makes it. I like the composition.

I like the faint lines in the background. You sure captured a lot of detail on the main vine running through the picture.

Intimate botanical views sometimes offer a human-like character, you remind me.

i like minimal abstract compositions. It's difficult to critique in technical aspects fo such, so.. a cool image :)

A simple image and as has been suggested would have liked the 'main' top right curly bit be in sharp focus rather then bottom left..

Lines of the stick and curlys make for a great set of patterns. Would like to see a bit more of the main stick and especially the main upper right curly in focus.

Heh! I have a similar kind of shot I took the other day. It makes for a simple abstract of lines and shapes, which is always best (IMO) in monochrome.

I'd like to see the most interesting curleycue in focus. LG
