| I like this a lot. You could easily put some sharp on it and make it pop with a highpass or USM treatment. Wondering what would happen to the whole if you used a black point (set curve black) on the bench and then set white point on the wall? The perspective is fine. Not being centered adds a tons of uniqueness to this. Great shot. |

| This is a slice of life, straight off of so many main streets the world over. You know what you would do to change it, but it has a nice feel as it is. |

| I do like the composition. So simple and balanced. Really catches your eye. I agree with you on the grain - I think it kind of dulls the contrast. It would be nice to see these benches pop from the background. So now that you've done it once, get back and do it again the way you envision it! |

| If I had a nickel for every time I say "I wish I had..." well, I'd be in Tahiti right now. I guess it's just part of the learning experience. At least you know what you'd do different next time. I like the proportions of this shot. Almost seems like a mural. |

| I like the symmetry here and wonder how it would look with just a tad bit more on the top. It looks like some nice verticals there that may enhance the symmetry even more. |

Although the picture isn't exactly how you wanted it to be, I think it turned out nicely. It has a nice old feel to it with the grain. I could just picture a couple of elderly people sitting there reminicing.

| Pairs, harmony. Yet, threes, fives, and sevens, achieve an unbalanced playful composition. I think about what I have learned from studying Japanese gardening and my life in China and Far Eastern arts. Symmetry and asymmetry; I can appreciate both. You remind me to look further into this subject with my own camera. |

I think your comments already mention what you could do to improve, a simple shot yet begs for stories. I actually like the crop as it focusses us on the subjects.
Just had a wander through your portfolio and if you ever get stuck for a submission here I'd love you to reshoot this (or re edit). With some minor adjustements this would be a corker :)

| The neat thing about this scene is you can go back and revisit it. Only next time, have your daughter sit on one of those benches. I'm into symmetry as much as the next person - probably more - but to break it in some way, as with a person here, really adds a spark sometimes. |

| The number of symmetries is awesome nonetheless, and combined with the outstanding dark tones of the 2 benches (vs the much lighter ones of the other elements) makes a very pleasingly solid (bench!) statement. |
