 My boyfriend and i were driving down the highway last night, and the semi in front of us hit this owl. we stopped and picked it up and it stayed over night in our laundry room until the warden could come and pick it up. it is a great horned owl.
im actually kind of disapointed that i was unable to get a picture of him without the bars, but as you can probaly tell by look on his face, he would have pecked my eyes out had i tried to take him out of the cage. oh well, better luck with the next owl :)

I would have to agree with your take on this, the bars! Also, upon looking through them to what is behind...It is all very dark and compressed. Lighting, aperture and different angle of shot would take care of that. Nice job.

Would have really liked this shot if the cage wasn't here. The eyes really stand out, but the bars are really distracting.

Unfortunately the bars don't do justice to the magnificent dead stare eye's these creatures have, however it does make a statement about the plight of these birds.
