I am interested, if anyone knows, in a resource that might explain how different blending modes affect that layer. I notice that black and white, particularly, seem to react most specifically. But I can't predict it. I find what works by random chance, which takes up too much time.

A very compelling image. If you're like me, all the playing with different blend modes, leads to difficulty in deciding which images are the keepers - sometimes none, but sometimes several (coz I'm seriously challenged at decision making). This one of yours is a definite keeper.

It's a scary, intense drug induced dream

I feel as if an incantation has just been uttered and we're witnessing a magical transformation in mid-process. This unknowing chap, plucked at random from the audience, will completely disappear in a puff of smoke in another blink of the eye. I'll bet you can get a lot of use out of that cool lights overlay.

brilliant lights ..
i think you've just got to play around with the different blending modes .. they all affect your image in a different way and the opacity also has a major impact ... its not something you can explain easily because it is so visual .. :)

Random is good if it produces work like this.

I don't know how I would react if the devil offered me a contract--would I do it? "D This promises to be an eye-opening thread, Feb. will seem like a very short month!

An interesting mix of techniques I look forward to seeing more of your work this month :)

I love the "out of the box" approach and abstractness of this shot. The flow, blur/liquid technique and the vibrant colors are great, but what is really fantastic is the placement of the statue and the reflection of it all. I see what you mean by letting it lead you somewhere. Thanks for the eye opening comment on my calla lily. That is exactly what I am looking for this month in order to grow and improve with my visuals and processing.

You were driving home in a storm and caught a man in the act of transforing into a werewolf? Wow! Or was it the devil, evaprating into smoke. You didn't sign any contract, did you? We will know if you suddenly become very famous.
