 I quickly discovered that its really fricken hard to shoot ice like this in the day time to try to pull the detail out of it.


BTW yes the sky was pretty much like that , I punched up the saturation a touch for the sky but other than that thats pretty close to what I was looking at, and the spots arn't sensor dust it was actually snowing when I took that...

This is an awesome image IMHO. The sky seems made to order for the shot. They don't do much ice sculpture in this part of the world, so it is something that I would be very interested in seeing in progress.

The sky is amazing, perfectly brings out the sculpture - kind of appropriate that the wing seems surrounded by a glow!

great lighting, did you use an overlay? if not, whats with all the spots around the image? flying ice chips? I bet this ast night will be gorgeous, if they light these
