Challenge: Off-Screen Expectation (Basic Editing I)
Camera: Canon PowerShot G5
Location: St. Helena
Date: Mar 9, 2004
Aperture: 4.0
ISO: 50 ISO
Shutter: 1/100 sec.
Galleries: Abstract, Black and White

No its not a person but I like it, the detail in in the lamp, and glass with the marks from weather, the background of the wall adds to more of an abstract feel. I used an 81a filter also and converted it from color to b/w from raw into tiff.

Nice. I'd like to see to what this light is attached.

Sorry, I just couldn't figure out the relationship to the topic.

Beautiful study. Just doesnt meet the criteria though in my eye. More of an "ON screen expectation" since we are "waiting for the light".

is the light waiting, or are we... not exactly sure what is off screen that I'm expecting.

this is a very nice shot...but I don't get the feeling of an off screen expectation from this

This is a nice black and white. I particularly like the shapes and the textures moreso than the subject itself. The composition here feels slightly 'squeezed'. I don't know if it was possible or not, but creating a little breating room on all sides of this light fixture could possibly create something even stronger. I'm estimating that you are probably hearing comments about how this meets the challenge as well so I won't expand on that. I think it's a great image :) = 8

Pretty, but it don't really match up to the challenge. Well, it was a tough one.

It's a great shot, with perfect focus and DOF... but where is the off screen expectation?

title decribes challenge well but photo does not. I usually do not look at titles and had to because I wasn't sure how this dealt with challenge. Make your photo say it all.

Technically impressive, but I don't agree that this fulfills the criteria of the challenge.

Only the title here says anything about "expectation", sorry. Feels like a pic taken and then forced into the challenge so it could be used. Otherwise, excellent photo.

It's a lamp. It's wet. Without the title, it looks like a picture of a lamp. It doesnt convey a message of expectation to me. Thanks for sharing!
