 develop the raw with photoshop. levels,curves,photo filter, selective colours. crop. clone out a little bird on the background and burn a lot the bird.

I like the color and simplicity I think you've got a Cormorant there rather than a Heron.

Warmly minimal. From a technical standpoint, there's a bit of haloing around the bird - which may well be semi-natural given the contrasting shapes/colors, but if not you may want to fix it if you intend to keep/print the shot (which I recommend.)

correction,this is a Cormarant,commonly called a "waterturkey or waterbuzzard" down here in the south..they have webbed feet like a ducks and swim underwater to catch fish to eat and are seen on the banks holding their wings out to dry...nice shot tho,7
