| I like the feel of this a lot. I find the lamp cord (is that what that is on the left?) distracting. Maybe put something there to block it? |

There is a lack of clarity here and I think I know at least part of what is causing it. Your file size is only 26k when you could have used up to 150k. This indicates a lot of JPEG compression, which is surely taking a lot of detail out of your photo. Check the JPEG compression settings in your image editor and always try to save as close to the limit for a challenge as you can get it without going over.
Aside from that, this is a pretty decent still life. Composition may be a little too even, but that's very subjective. |

| the concept of the idea is neat. but the lamp throws off the picture as its not all the way in it, and the top blends into the background. maybe if it had been more lit it would have worked better. |

| Very nice. Beautiful color and contrast, nice use of the black background. White border really sets it off. I like the hint of the lamp shade. A few very minor ideas/suggestions... lamp cord is slightly distracting and leads my eye out of the frame, I think I'd prefer the glasses and pipe not to be cut off at the bottom and I think you could have arranged the objects with more depth and let some be out of focus. You could get the same feel but help us know which objects to focus on, i.e. the cup and pot and let the lamp be out of focus. Just a few thoughts... still a very nice shot! |
