Backlighting is good for showing silhouettes but in this case I think the light is too harsh and the swans are all jumbled together so we don't really see a strong silhouette.

I would guess you were going for this look, but even then, the water seems underexposed and too dark.

nice capture, the foreground seems cluttered though with swans, maybe cropping them all out and just having the one in the background would give the whole shot more drama.
