 This is my beautiful wife Deb. I should have known better than to try a portrait in basic editing, especially one shot up close and personal at 50mm...ooops.

PP: not much really...adjusted white balance to flash, touch of contrast, convert from raw, noise ninja, usm, border, resize, save for web.

No predictions...my last two have been really average and so I'll be really interested to see how this one fares. Personally I think it's a really stylish photo...in a fashion sense...but this is my wife and I'm blinded/totally unable to be objective :)

Post Challenge: Lots more work and learning to do on portraits, especially flash and lighting balance. Thanks for feedback.

Nice detail in the shot ΓΆ€“ maybe the frame itself should have been in focus as well?

Good focus on the face... like the tilted angles too. Lighting seems a bit harsh on the frame and her forehead though to me.

The lighting is too harsh on your muse. A more difused light would have been flattering and perhaps less startling to her eyes.

I like the idea but feel this suffers from harsh lighting. Maybe diffusing the lighting to soften the edge on this could have helped.
