This shot made me smile as I can always remember as a child loving to ride this sort of thing. A very unique take on the challenge as it does bring out that in a childs world magic and wonder can be found near the most mundane things

Makes sense to me. What is more symbolic of childhood than those little rides outside of stores. AND, this one is unoccupied. Perhaps that guy in the upper left used to be one of those kids that never got to get the quarter to ride the little car. Maybe he is standing there sadly remembering that he never got to ride in the car.

Oh yea, the picture. I think it is very well balanced compositionally. And, while I'm glad my score was higher than yours (hahahaha), I really like this shot. The more I look at it, the more I think it is very well done, and very much under appreciated.

Nice shot Barbara. I like the sparkles on the car. It adds life to it. It's like it's saying "Come on children, look at me. I'm ready to take you for a ride."

You didn't need the shopper, it would have been so much stronger without.

Interesting angle but the shot doesn't grab me.

The border is a nice addition. It makes the image more than a simple snapshot. It is also a very honest picture. I do, however, whish it was not as washed out, that is, the cement is very white.

Try avoiding getting those light spots above. To avoid these purchase a lense hood and you will minimize the times this will happen

This gives me the creepy feeling of a dark figure waiting to kidnap any child who's alone at the store. It's sunny and bright by the car (i.e. innocence and childhood) with a dark and gloomy character in the corner. Nice shot.

Nice idea, but it looks a little "grabbed".

Would of been nice to see more of the car.

The focus on this seems to be the man... not the car. Not sure if that was your intent, but it doesn't say 'childhood' to me unless the focus is on the car.

Difficult lighting conditions - burnt out ground and specular highlights and the shadow areas are therefore fairly dark which is a shame. Lens flare not ideal and given it is only at the top of the frame, could have been cropped out without spoiling the composition
