Challenge: Off-Screen Expectation (Basic Editing I)
Camera: Fujifilm FinePix S2 Pro

Shutter: 1/350th

Nothing special on exposure. The focus on the face is just a little soft by design. The model has some great experience lines, but here I tried to make him look a little younger rather than somebody in my league.

Post shot processing was mostly levels, cropping, and unsharp mask, and a couple of mode changes. Generally, I prefer the basic rules, but this one really could have used a couple of touch ups (label on the bat, reflection on the nose, etc.)

I tried blowing out the shirt on purpose as well, but I expect that I might get killed in the voting because of it. I'm trying to figure out whether that serves as a little bit of a frame and could use a few comments to help decide.

Good composition, like the spacing. Do baseball players where watches?

Terrific shot! Great dof, like the sepia tone. Most of all I like the crop!

My second 10...congrats. :-)

Really love this shot for the DOF (love the way the background is blurred) and also love the tight cropping composition. Highlights are a little blown out. Well done overall, I really enjoyed this picture.

Nice shot. I like the fact that the bat is out of focus - looks like he is getting ready to swing.

Focus should be a bit sharper on the face. Nice composition though and a good idea.

Horizontal crop is excellent. Definitely gives the feeling of being in the audience at a baseball game. The added space between the face and the right of the crop gives a great feeling of him looking at the pitcher or incoming ball. Excellent contrast, beautiful monotone. "10"

I wish this was a little sharper, but it's way up there in creativity.
