I have no good ideas for this challenge!!! As there is a high chance I'll still be in the Leage of Death I need to have an entry so this is it. One of my favourites is this shot:

It was my "inspiration" for this entry. The pins are stuck in a cardboard box. 430Ex flash was slaved to my ST-E2 and held to the right.

I didn't realise until it was too late that the new rules allow me to combine multiple shots to manipulate the DOF. If I'd known then I'd have expanded the DOF to include all the pins and their shadows.

Editing Steps:
Convert from RAW
* exposure -.30
* temperature 5050
Cloning to
* extend background in top/right where it didn't quite make it
* dust on pins
* extend a couple of shadows to make them the same lengths

I really liked how you used all of the same color.

There's a lot to be said for simplicity. Good composition and lighting. Nicely executed. Good luck in the challenge.

Cool shot and nice idea. I like the composition as well as the lighting and shadows. I do wonder though if this might have benifited from the front pin being in focus with the rest of the pins fading smoothing out of focus. nice job.

The shallow depth of firld actually disturbs the full image I feel. The falloff really needs to be with all of them unless you are trying to single out a certain one because you want it too stand out. Since they are all uniform, they all really need to be in focus. Could have given this a much tighter crp as well. Fill that frame with this shot. Good use of lighting and shadows as well as color though.

I like this....however, would have preferred to see each of the blue pin heads in focus.

So simple...yet so worthy of framing!

Nice and simple. I like the image a lot. I think I would like it even better with a more neutral color for the pins. Then it would be all about the lines and form.
