This is I think my favorite photo of 2007 that I took. This is a shot of my Mother's eye that I took with a 105mm f/2.8 Macro lens that I had rented to do a macro assignment I had in my Digital Photography Class. This image had been sitting in my portfolio most of the year, but I did not see any rules saying I could not use an image that had been in my portfolio. The second I thought of using it, I hid it and all other shots I was thinking about using for this challenge.

It had a some what large number of views (for me) but very few comments. That would leave me to believe that it will not do very well here. Also, it is going up against people's best of the best shots. Not to mention people either love or hate that you can see me in the reflection in the eye. It is quite on purpose. It is meant to have the lens area of the 105 meet and fade into the pupil of the eye to show the relationship of both being a lens. Hence the title, "Human Lens".

Score prediction? I have no clue. If there is one thing I have determined in my year and a half at DPC it's that I have not a clue what the voters will go for, but it usually ain't what I submit. I've accepted the fact that I'm not in touch with most people here on DPC and what I like isn't often shared by most people here. And you know what, that's ok. There are many talented and creative people here on DPC and I'm just glad I get to see and fall in love with many great images. Hopefully now and again I will post or submit an image that captures someone else's fancy so I can return the favor.

Very creative and well executed. My only negative which is silly is the lines in the eye on the right, beyond your control, yes, but distracting. Still the reflection and use of the lens for the pupil is well done. Good Luck. 6.

Wow that takes some photographing. Well done. Not to keen on all the veins though.
