Challenge: Childhood Without Children II (Basic Editing)
Camera: Canon EOS-40D
Lens: Canon EF 50mm f/1.4 USM
Location: Backyard
Date: Jan 19, 2008
Aperture: F/4
ISO: 400
Shutter: 1/395
Galleries: Snapshot, Black and White
Date Uploaded: Jan 19, 2008

I shot this on a cloudy day in color and black and white. The black and white seemed more apropriate to me.
First I adjusted the curves for a little more contrast and then sharpened a small amount. Then cropped, resized and saved for web.

It shows emptyness and loneliness. I also like that the Little Red Wagonis tipped over on it's side it gives you the feeling that is was just abandoned.

This photo is prety good. i like the way every thing looks like it has been laying there for a while.

Considering your choice of postprocessing, I find the title odd :p

subject is good, but the black and white conversion here comes across very flat. needs more contrast.

While it's not one of the technically perfect shots, it has so much appeal because of its subject matter. Although, I'm sure that you'll take some "hits" for the contrast not being as great as it could have been. Nice shot!

The BW gives a nice feel to this one. but the clutter is way too much i think, the subject should have occupied more space

Looks like a dangerous spot for a wagon accident. Interesting contrast between child's toy and refuse and rusty nails. I think I'd like it better a little closer in so I could enjoy the textures of the wagon more.

If the other items (trash from earlier past than the wagon) weren't in the photo, I'd like this better. It doesn't seem as 'forgotten' since it's clear that someone's been there recently to dump plastic. Make sense?

looks too much like a snapshot.
